Maya dts problems

Here's the problem. I'm able to import my objects into torque just fine. but when they get in there. there's no texture (yes the texture file is in the same directory as the object) and I run right though them. It makes it hard to build a level in maya and the chrecter just run through every tree and fall through the ground.
I'm running maya 6.5 at the time and i have an exporter for 6.5. if anyone else has had this problem and has fixed it. please write back

Make sure the texture is in the "color" of the material. and if you dont know already http://www.dannyngan.com/torque/maya2dts/ has pretty much everything you need to know.

even though. we had planed on making everything in maya. that includs the zones. so it brings up some shadowing problems as well

No texture showing up in TGE might be due to the type of material that you have selected in Maya. You should declare the materials as either 'Lambert' for usual rendering and 'Blinn' for reflective rendering. All others are not accepted, but you'll have to check and verify this. You can also verify what got exported by looking at the dump.dmp file generated in the same directory as where you specified the DTS export.

Do you have collision meshes? Are they closed, convex, volumes?
