Austin Game Conferences

by Beth A. Dillon · in General Discussion · 09/17/2005 (11:03 am) · 34 replies

Is anyone else headed over there (Oct. 26-28)? I have booked a suite from Tuesday night through Friday night, and I'd be happy to host a GarageGames get-together.

Secondarily, I'm looking to split the suite if anyone wants to split costs. There is a room with a king sized bed and a living room with a pull-out sofa.

Hope to see you there!

I would love to meet with all the Austin/Torque Talen hopefully to pull away some extra team members. I am going to try and get in contact with the Lan Center Lanz Sport here after christmas and see about setting something up.

It would be nice to have a place for an ALL Torque meeting to take place.

Any day but Wednesday.

You must now be talking about the Austin conference on January 21, 2006. I'm going to miss this one, since I'm going to GDC and others. I'm going to miss the repeat of this conference happening in Seattle, because I'll be in Japan. Someone post up notes!

I think this one is like a Torque Convention... or I may be wrong...

How to Break Into the Game Industry by the Game Initiative?

Doesn't sound much like a Torque con to me, but I might be mistaken...

Thanks

Since there are a few Austin area people here in this thread, I thought I'd say we (the Austin Indie Game Developers group that I lead) are having a meet at Cyberjocks on the 16th. Not Torque-related per se but we will be playing Zap and a few other Torque-based games are available. We'll also take a look at the Halflife2/Source SDK hopefully. I hope to eventually have Torque available at meetings too - cost is the main issue there.

Anyway, look here for more info:

Jan 16, 5-9PM
$7.50 for game time for the night.
