Maya2difExporter

I've created a rough draft of maya2difExporter for Maya 5.0. As the name implies, it exports DIF files. Same BSP restrictions apply, meaning it requires construction of box brush type shapes with transformation frozen. To export, the scene objects must be triangulated. The texturing is a bit sketchy, and moving a single UV node ruins the texturing plane equation but XYZ planar mapping works well.

Link removed. Look at the bottom of the page.

edit
-- More notes --
i) the textures must be located in the same folder as where the output file is specified.
ii) muliple texturing can be specifed for different planes and if no texture is specified then it assigns a NULL texture
iii) it only supports exporting all objects as structure. Entity, details, and collisions are not yet supported.

this looks good as it does releate the the texture being scaled due to camera distance.

I appreciate the input and i am encourage knowing other are using maya for dif's ,
I appear cursed in this manner.

in the last month i've become familiar with quark and 3d studio. neither of which is a bad alternative and i've learned alot about the old dif format and the map format.
so i'm sure i'll be fixin the issue over time. but i'm not too far away from purchasing tse. and will propable focus projects towards that end.

is the newer build of the plug in available ? -- as i can never quite walk away from such dilemmas
