Merging Light Pack
by Gamegraph · in General Discussion · 09/11/2005 (7:12 pm) · 23 replies
I have been working with TGE, and it is almost complited with coding.
But now I wish to use Light pack with the TGE, so I have downloaded newer version of Light pack.
I found that the new version of Light pack includes TGE.
Older version (like 1.1.5 or 1.2) did not include TGE and it has list that shows where I can add the light pack into TGE.
Lasted version of light pack has a document for merging, but it seems it is only for when work with older version of light pack, and merging with newer version of light pack.
What I need :
1. Light pack without TGE
2. How can I insert light pack into TGE which I have been working with.
If anyone can help me with this, it will be very helpfull.
Thank you in advance.

As I mentioned before I can certainly help out, however I can only do so in the TLK Private Forums.

Interesting. Don't you need a TGE license in order to purchase the Lighting Pack in the first place? And how does the guy have the source code to TGE without a license? o_O

Piracy is a problem everywhere, not just in the games.

Well unfortunatly TGE (and lot of other engines) can be found on the internet, but TGE alone it's of no use if you can't access SDK forums ;)Piracy is a problem everywhere, not just in the games.

I think GG mentioned something about this before - maybe that commercial licensees don't have the "Torque SDK Owner" label in their profile? I'll have to double check that.
Thanks for checking it out though, I appreciate you guys keeping an eye out for both SG and GG!

I noticed that too, but that field is not always accurate, so I don't like to say anything right away. In fact this is an excellent example, because Jun did post in the TLK public forums (which require a TGE license).I think GG mentioned something about this before - maybe that commercial licensees don't have the "Torque SDK Owner" label in their profile? Is there a new version in process Jogn that will integrate with ease into the current head :)

Not until TGE 1.4 is finalized, right now it's still in the process of working out the bugs. After the code settles down a bit I'll look into it, but I have a feeling it may be a little while. :)

In fact, the original poster has a commercial TGE license. We do appreciate everyone being on the lookout, but don't be -too- quick to judge!

How difficult would it be to just flag those accounts so that the notes read "seat holder" or some such?
I'm just thinking it might spare the legitimate seat holders from enduring undue flak. (C;

Stephen, just a thought but it seems that whenever someone is using a programming "seat" on a commercial license, this issue seems to pop uo - that is, there notes field is empty and others assume the worst. How difficult would it be to just flag those accounts so that the notes read "seat holder" or some such?

I've often found the desire to see a T2D Owner note as well for those that have purchased T2D...

I guess I would never make a good judge :)

Well I apologize if i hurt someone with my judging :) but some of my programs was stolen too many times :(I guess I would never make a good judge :)

If product-specific questions were only asked/answered in the appropriate forums, there would be no need to check profiles.

@Wysardry: I agree completely for this particular question, but there are times when a post is supposed to be in a public forum, so that doesn't always cover it.

That's why I used the word "appropriate" (if a public forum was the appropriate place, then license ownership would not be an issue). ;)

I have been coding with Torque and now I decide to use Light Pack, but I don't know how to do it in this stage.

We know, I think some of the community members misunderstood, because of the odd way the GarageGames profiles work.
You still haven't created a private forum thread, are you having trouble seeing the forum? If you are let me know so we can take a look at the problem.
Try clicking on this link: TLK Private Forum
And let me know what you see. If it's the forum then scroll to the bottom and click on 'New Thread Topic' to create a new thread.
Let me know if this works,

It's no trouble at all, if the TLK private forums don't show up properly for commercial licensees that's something that definitely needs fixed.
I'll look into this right away, just bear with me while I get this resolved,
