Can 3DWS directly export .dif files? Or do we need an updated pipeline?

3DWS presently exports to .map. I am adding a .dif exporter and a .dts exporter/importer.

The screenshots are impressive. And I'll add a '+1' to Rodney's question.

I love Cshop 4.1, overall fantastic product. Interface is a little less my style in this version, but I've got nothin but love for it. I'll be upgrading when the DIF support is added.

I love Cshop 4.1 but I just paid 69 dollars for it a couple of months ago. Another $59-$99 dollars for the upgrade is right out, for now. But will keep it in mind.

I'm in the same boat Fail. I bought 4.1, plus the pipeline about 6 weeks ago because there was no projected time line for 3DWS or the Torque Constructor either one. If I would have known it was coming this quick I would have waited. Just my luck :(

This contains an updated executable and export plugins. The .map exporter has been fixed so that the texture mapping in the .map file are exported perfectly. You can also select options to call map2dif with the exporter, and so save a .dif from the editor in a single step.

And would it be possible to get some more details on the dts exporter importer? Does this mean that we can import dts file, place them in the editor, then export them to scale, then place in the in game level editor?? That would be worth the price right there.
My biggest problem right now with torque is the level art pipeline.
I go from cs to torque, place the level. Check the scale, rescale if nessasary, then rexport. Then go from max to torque, always end up having to rescale, rexport, place in game, then use torques wonkly assed snap to grid system (AKA doesn't exist) to place by dts shapes.
Really what would be super cool is if torque supported a map format that contained dts shapes inside then already that could be assemled in something like cartshop, and exported from there, that way you only need to build your level once. That would be amazing.
Maybe what would be a better idea would be to support the importation of the .mis format for torque? That way you can import interior instances and shape instances minus the terrain, and rexport it in correct format since the .mis file is plain text. Hmmm? No?

So how much will this cost if you just recently bought 4.1?And would it be possible to get some more details on the dts exporter importer? Does this mean that we can import dts file, place them in the editor, then export them to scale, then place in the in game level editor?? That would be worth the price right there.

Looks great! A little pricy but if I like it I'll see about getting it. Though there might be stuff higher on my to-buy list... thought I will try this!

I mean having to pay 65 for cshop + 59 for an upgrade while someone new would only need 79. It really doesn't seem like much incentive to upgrade to me. 124 vs 79 is a big difference.

So looking at the price for upgrade, it would appear that 3dws does not actually replace CShop correct? I mean having to pay 65 for cshop + 59 for an upgrade while someone new would only need 79. It really doesn't seem like much incentive to upgrade to me. 124 vs 79 is a big difference.

The program exports to .map right now, and you can set a few parameters so that map2dif is automatically run when you export the .map...so that a .dif is exported in one step.
