We werent making fun of you. I suppose its just strange that you would post a screenshot with all Torque stock engine and models on the Torque forum.

I certainly hope you succeed, but what was the purpose of the screenshot?

For whats its worth, its ment to be a fundamental excersice in origanal game design, nothing especially fancy, but unique and very fun.

the basic game design is obvious, if you have suggestion, and wish offer advice, please do so.

Its obvious? I have no idea what it is. Nothing was written on that subject.

Orcs, elves, goblins, and humans. What an original idea.

Do you have any storyboards done, so I can get a feel for the game? I might be interested. I do 2d/3d cpu/pencil&paper modeling.

And about the comment of original idea, hey sometimes it is better to start off with a sure thing. Orc, elves, goblins, and humans are still very popular and have a huge market.

You guys have very little room to talk, you all are not in any serious projects. We on the other hand, are makeing a game with a focus on the fundamentals that you seem to have no grasp of, so if you don't mind. We are looking for artists, maybe a level designer.

we just want to make a game that is fun and have fun doing it.

Orpg team: The guys here kinda dislike n00bs coming out with an idea right out of the blue. They have very good reason too, many kids come in hee sound all serious but don't do anything. While i myself am not sure if your serious.

My Advice: Develop something new, that shows that you can do what you say your going to do, then show it off.

Everyone starts somewhere in game design, whether it not be with "Hello World" or a simple level made from a open source engine. The fact that you are insulting the project and it's dev's shows the level of maturity on these forums. If this is supposed to be a place for individuals to get advise and suggestions, than I'll give the community here a failing grade on that aspect.

I happen to know John and Matt, and I assure you these two take to heart everything they work on. Anyway I should get back to work but if your game development is just as good as your posting Chris "Digi" Timberlake, than I am positive you are no greater than the Orpg Team.

@Matt, i was using it as referance to their state of mind. I'm not judging you. Nor did i call you a n00b. But to some of these guys they may look at you as a new kid on the block. I've been here a while, and I am still a n00b, no matter how much i know.

I apologize for my sarcastic tone about it not being an original idea. It wasn't really aimed toward you guys. It's more of a reflection of my frustration in general with how one or two ideas have been recyled in game dev world for years ad nauseum. To the point that its like there moratorium on new ideas with new developers.

@Matt -- some of us have actually completed games already before coming here.

@John -- some of us are involved with projects but not on this site.

But yes, I agree in general, this should be a place where newcomers are welcome...I am a newcomer here and I've gotten a lot of support and help, so you're certainly right about that.

Good luck with the game, Matt. I have also noticed that art is at a premium these days, which is why I'm dropping back now to strengthen my art skills, particularly character modeling. I hope you find the right people for your project.
