Cracks in my dif

by timmport · in Artist Corner · 09/04/2005 (7:16 pm) · 2 replies

I began my geometry in Maya then exported it as a .map and opened it it in Quark6.3 from which I exported it as a dif. When I placed the dif in TGE the polygons had gaps between them. The geometry looked fine while it was in Quark.

I have read on GG forums that new version of Map2dif supports float point coords. My Quark uses map2dif that I got with the initial download this last spring 2005. It seems like it was compiled on 2-12-05. I have also looked for the floating points check box that I've read on these forums is supposed to be located in Quark at options>configuration>map>options. However I dont see any options with the words floating point in that area of Quark.

Does anone know how I might avoid having gaps in my dif models?

Thanks for the URL and I looked at the posts. I get the imprerssion from reading a particular post on that thrread that having cracks if your dif geometry (converted from map) is just the way it is and in subsequent revisions of map2dif_plus.exe this might get dealt with. Please someone correct me if I am wrong on this.
