Torque Community: Game Projects Section

Hi there :)

I'm here to pitch my idea. I believe in addition to all of the great areas available when you click on the Community link at the top, there should also be a section for projects that people are working on. It would have a list of the 10 most recently updated projects and also a list of the most popular (probably by hits-per-day).

You could include a synopsis, screenshot section, news, project team members links, homepage link, etc.

I think this would be handy for developers that are using Torque since I have certain questions that I can point directly to people who are making games like mine, rather than making a post in the General section of the forums, hoping that someone sees it.

The project page would also have a link to the recent plans attributed to that project.

What do you think? Is this something you think would help GarageGames or development with the Torque engine?

The first thing I do every morning is wake up to read everyone's .plans... hoping to see some projects and instill a little confidence through the remainder of my work day. Unfortunately, many of the .plans have become soap boxes for non-plan related material that really belong here in the forum. I'm not sure if a completely unique section is needed to fix this, but some of your ideas could be implemented into the current .plan system - along with a little policing.

Edit: "have become..."? How long have I been here, 3 months?

PERFECT!

Thanks Mark! But maybe they should inclue this portion of the site in the community as well. At least link it in there, since I think this part is underused. I've read over most of the site in my free time, but I didn't even know this existed. I'm sure many people did not know either.

Thanks again.

The link is Projects... in the menu on the left... under Marketplace.
