Exporting Animations? max2dtsexporter error!
by David J Weaver · in Artist Corner · 02/04/2002 (6:07 am) · 11 replies
i get this error when i try to export an animation for T2.
Illegal transform animation detected beetween colapsed node "Submesh_head145" and "Bounds"
But if this means that the head is going out of bounds then its messed up because i moved the bounds box and made it bigger. the aniamtion is of a human crouching. the head doesnt even move. any help or suggestions?

The server that you are using reports an error that your file is too big and it wont allow it to be downloaded. Try zipping up your file.

I can't really think of what would be causing the problem since I cannot duplicate it here on my end. If you are still having troubles please let us know and try to supply us with all of the information that you have.
Some other thoughts after looking at your model:

I didn't recieve any errors when I tried to export the the model that you asked me to look at. The only difference that I can see is that I am Max 4.26 and you are running 3.x.I can't really think of what would be causing the problem since I cannot duplicate it here on my end. If you are still having troubles please let us know and try to supply us with all of the information that you have.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! ok that model is from the T2SDK all i did was hide the mesh animate the biped and saved it.. i didnt add anything or delete anything.. i do still have problems, and no i am not using max3.x its max4.26 just like yours. Hmm thanks for your help though.. i did some manipulating of the options and got it to export.. but it seems awfull small..(the size of the file) i turned off colapse transforms under parameters. (Hmmm somehow i think that was a bad thing)

Load up the DTS file that you have exported in the ShowTool. If there are nodes missing check your dump file to see what's getting ignored and then go then go back into Max and your CFG files and see if you can solve the problem.Logan

ok i think i fixed it.. it was the .cfg file i looked at it and it was never exporting the submesh, Thanks alot Foster ;) i owe ya you helped me alot! i have a few prefabs already made/skinned but ever time I try to export then it says no details to export (note: these are just extra shaped like a lightpole nothing like a weapon or vehicle) anyone know what are the req's for that type of scene.. (if its in the DTS exporter doc's then just say "read the damn docs newb!") :) Thanks all.

I highly recommened reading the documentation, as it will help you out with the majority of questions that you probably have in regards to setting up a scene for export. Another possibility might be that you have added or done something to your scene (such as adding a new modifier or possible even scaled your scene and used the Reset Transform modifier).
If this is not the case can you tell us (or show us) an example of your linking (as seen in the schematic view) or supply us with a link to your file so that we can take a look and help troubleshoot with you? Also, if you can plop onto the IRC channel after 1500EST I can help you out more.
