Tribes 2 a useful tool for a potential Torque licensee?

I just picked up Tribes 2 for 15 bucks at KMart. I figured it'd be very useful to get to grips with some of the features of the Torque engine, namely scripting.
Was I right? Or would it just lead me down the wrong path? The type of game that we're looking at is nothing like T2, it's not even a shooter. But I should still be able to get some practice in with script syntax and such before licensing Torque, no?

i agree, when i first started, i used the tribes 2 scripts as starting points, and went from there. I rarely look at them now, but it was a good place to start (namely weapon scripts for me, but i used some vehicles for a while, then wrote my own)ryan

Thanks for the feedback. As I say, I was pretty certain it'd be useful, I just didn't want to be lead down the wrong path and have to totally start over when I license Torque.

Some of the functions don't exist in the Torque engine. But you shouldn't really need them.
All the game files are in the *.vl2 files. These are just zip files that can be unzipped with winzip or any other zip utility.
