Game Title register

You know, after browsing thru different projects I discovered that very often game titles sound sooo familiar. But there was no way to remember - have i seen a game with the same title or not.

And then I thought - maybe lots of us have came upon a problem when we dont know - has Our Cool-Sounding Title been used or not?

Maybe GarageGames could make sort of game title register where all the game titles which have been used in industry, are gathered. I know, its helluva job but maybe there already are such a databases..

This could help indies to prevent all kinds of copyright violations, as well as inspire them and also show them how stupid and uninspired titles can be...

I'll agree with that one, I only found out recently that my project name (Drakaan) is very similar to Drakan (Which I'm getting, looks like a cool game). I'm not changing the name, but it would be nice if I could check to see if my projected game name is there...

This is a pretty cool idea, but we're booked. It sounds like a good job for a volunteer.

I found out very good site, called mobygames.com they have decent list of games covcered (its sort of historical project online).

maybe GG could make a non-profit deal with them regarding titles, and allowing garagegames to use their database.
