TSE Starter.fps download
by Joseph Euan · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 08/19/2005 (6:09 pm) · 183 replies

I got the starter.fps folder ported over to TSE (TSE water and Atlas are working in the starter.fps as well), and I wanted to upload it for people to play around with/use if they want too...
Update:
v1.3 for TSE projects using MS2 or below "here" (23MB)
v1.3.5 for TSE projects using MS3 "here" (18MB)
(the file size is smaller because I used a better compression setting)
More details of v1.3 and v.13.5 can be found here www.garagegames.com/blogs/18010/10218
You can find links for the older versions on my .plan
At the moment it contains 2 maps....
Stronghold: just the same old stronghold mission, but with the TSE water.
Simple testbed: Just TSE water and Atlas terrain, it has 2 platforms and an AI player running around...

But the fps gives a material unmapped message?

I get the same blank screen. Demo works fine, which release of TSE is required, I only have VC 6 right and I am limited to milestone 2, I cannot get the head release to compile? But the fps gives a material unmapped message?

As for the white errors,... try a different version. Like the head.
@Bryant
There's a free version of the c++ .net compiler. It's commandline only, but it does work.

Brilliant! Works with the HEAD compiled on visual c++ .net 2003. Thanks a LOT! This is what i was missing with TSE to get me started :)As for the white errors,... try a different version. Like the head.

Ok, we downloaded and got the starter.fps going well. Some video card troubles like you guys as well with the NVIDIA 6200. for the most part killer fun. Although we haven't untill now really tried to do anything other then study the docs we have some and compile and get set up.
We just got 3D World Studio untill the big C "Constructor" comes out. The EA version of 3dws has a Torque folder in it with a map2dif, when we downloaded it. As we export out for TGE it works KILLER Smooth and no errors or anything. But when we try and export those same .diff files into TSE and the starter mission It crashes so fast it makes your head spin. What if anything are we doing wrong, is the editor broken? or is there another map2dif for TSE? or do we need to do some special scripting to bring them in ATM? We tried to script them in, but it still did the same thing. The errors we got in our task manager are:
fatal-isv:tse\interior\interior IO.cpp@906)
Hope that helps.
The map2dif we have now don't seem to work for TSE. Anyone has a fix or new map2dif for TSE??
Thanks guys from our 2 man team at ATOMIX Productions

No i just download milestone 2 but ur starter.fps in and changed in main.cs from demo to starter.fps, the TSE_dem_v1_2 works fine so i think its sum the do with the either the milestone i have, or the way i complie it becuase the file with the complied files and stuff on works fine but my complied version dont work.

I haven't check the starter pack with the latest version of TSE yet, so I don't know if theres any problems.
I'll post a .plan in a few days with an update.

I'm getting a new PC in the next few days which should let me run TSE a lot faster than I get at the moment (15-fps) so I'll really be able to finish the starter packs.I haven't check the starter pack with the latest version of TSE yet, so I don't know if theres any problems.

This is because it still points to old TGE functions which in this case doesnt exist... not really dangerous. I got this error when i fixed the Options menu. You can safely ignore this warning Florian

I'm just in the middle of getting all the software on my machine installed (new pc so I have to reinstall everything) then my number one thing over the weekend is getting the starter.fps port done!

If I run the demo version instead starterkit, everything works fine. Maybe I've got wrong when trying to put your starter kit with SDK together... But, I'm not sure.
