Deep 3rd party application integration

Hello...I'm eager to get started!
Which version would allow the developer to tie in with a third party application so that something that the Torque game player does (or doesn't) accomplish in the third party application triggers an increase or decrease in the "score" (assets) of the Torque game player in the Torque game?
If you're up for it....can you give me a general overview of how I would "code" within Torque the integration of the third party application tie in?
Can you indulge me in a highly subjective follow up question....just a gut feel, k?
Assuming that the 3rd party app was developed in house and had an easy to work with "handshake" for Torque integration (I appreciate that this doesn't exactly give you much to work with)....
....how tough would an integration be to accomplish? Could it be done so that the 3rd party app "popped up" on top of the Torque game....i.e....the player wouldn't have to leave the game to take part in the 3rd party "event"....and then the 3rd party application "pop up" would close....game play would recommence and the player's Torque "score" would instantaneously be updated...again, without having to reload the game?
....and in your opinion....and from an "end user" (game player) perspective...could the transition from the game.....to the 3rd party app...back to the game....be done in a way that wouldn't feel TOO disruptive?
How would you do it?
