Choosing software to implement the design of a particular game-1

Hello,

I am working on the design of a game. Below I will describe some of the game physics and functionality features. What I want to know is, what combination of programming/scripting software and art/audio packages would you recommend for implementation. I would especially like to know, if software like macromedia flash would be enough to handle the scripting and programming requirements of the physics and functionality I described. As far as I know MM Flash features art and sound creation options, but I think the implementation of this particular design would need some additional art packages and audio editing/creation tools.

Well, let's have a look:

I have three interactive screen in the game which provide the body for gameplay and feature the dynamics and mechanism that create conflicts. (The rest are simple screens like "Main men

You should compile your two threads. People get angry if you don't. :)

Just post the rest as a reply...

To delete it go to FORUMS... find your post, and click the trash can next to it.

Continuing from Part 1...

Screen 3
-a static screen in 2-D and Third person view. We see our avatar perform certain actions. There is a fisheye effect to create some depth and display a bunch of spectators that gather around the avatar and watch him.
-animated NPCs that laugh, scream, clap hands and give comments
-various arrow icons (up, down, right, left) appear along a single tight bar like as they are being carried along an assembly line. When they come at a certain point on the bar, we have to press the corresponding arrow key in time. (Like in the dance sequences in the last sequel of Leisure Suite Larry).
-A score graph that displays current score and how much arrows we still have to go.
-Our avatar performs actions according to our success in matching our key input with the arrow icons that appear on screen.
-Background music
-Sfx

Well, so much about basic physics and functions.

It would be great if you could give some insight on software packages as a whole. For example when I use Macromedia flash, can I also create all the art with that package or does it only assemble the graphics I created with another tool (photoshop, corel draw) and only provides scripting features? I think I would need an additonal audio editing package. If I create art and sound in other environments, would a macromedia tool be enough to assemble all elements and make them run as a "game"?

It would be also great if you could comment on single features. For example what software could handle a particular function well? If I'll chose that software because it handles that function well, in what other functions would it come short and create problems? Is there no single solution? Do I have to use many different tools?

Please tell it like you were talking to a four year old child. That's my age when it comes to tech and software issues:-)

I know, they're a lot of questions. But you don't need to answer all of them anyway. It's just ok when you could share your idea about one or the other.

Thanks in advance for all input on this and the time you'll take to answer.
