Max number of objects in Mission Group == 1024 ?

Is this correct, or is it a bug ?

I get a crash when I add any objects beyond this number - doesn't matter how many polys, etc (or at least hasn't mattered yet).

If I'm in the editor and adding items, the ones over 1k get added, but are unrendered. If I save the mission and restart, it crashes.

If this is a limit (I haven't dug through the c source yet to find out), can it be bypassed by putting objects in some other group ?

HI,
when I am working on the engine after putting the dif objects exported from cartography & dts objects from 3dmax,when the no of objects increases the torque engine becomes very very slow.sometimes the file I am working with doesnot even opens in engine.Is there any restriction in max no of objects in torque engine?how to overcome this problem?can anyone pl help me out?
