ok first off at a lan party/competition dont they supply the machines? if not that was INCREDABLY Harsh and I would definatly sue. I mean thats just wrong and how can you cheat on CS? ive played CS like once and thought it was fun as hell. but im guessing it would be incredably hard to cheat. i think that they took action too quick. other than that if he was cheating heck yeah kick him out! but dont destroy $2000 worth of machine!

You bring your own machines to all of the LAN parties I've seen...and it's very easy to cheat in Counter-Strike.

What I hate about cheaters is that they drive away new players in games. An experienced player can use his knowledge and skills to defeat a cheater because most of the time the cheater is using cheats to compensate for a lack of skill.

A newbie doesn't have that advantage, usually they log onto the server for the first time and get fragged 7 or 8 times in a row by a cheater who then proceeds to insult them about it. They don't learn anything and they quickly get frustrated, sometimes resorting to cheating themselves just because "everyone else does it."

No one likes that kind of crap, so most of the new players leave with a very bad impression of the developer and the game. That's the main reason companies should try curb cheating.
