Dual Analog - right analog stick replicating the mouse

by lineage · in Torque Game Engine · 08/03/2005 (4:52 pm) · 2 replies

I'm interested in controlling torque with a dual analog controller.

right now the left analog stick moves the guy in the game fine, just like WASD. so left and right strafes, up and down move the player forward and backward.

for some reason torque isn't detecting my right analog stick - it calibrates fine in Windows, but doesn't show up when I use the actionmap rxaxis or ryaxis.

basically im looking to replicate the mouse movement on the right analog stick - left and right turn the guy and up and down pitch and yaw. any help enabling the right analog stick or getting the correct mouse movement on the right analog stick would help tremendously! thanks

Some analog sticks show up with the right stick being rudder and thrust or something similar. Have you tried putting a breakpoint in the input code to see what events are firing?

Thanks for the help. i found out what it is after playing around with the actionmaps - for some reason it uses zaxis and rzaxis for the right analog for my dual analog.

now i been trying to get it to emulate the mouse movement - tried this resource but its really unsmooth.

anyone happen to get yaw pitch and turning with the right analog smoothly?
