Could anybody point me to a tutorial for making tree's and bushes'?

They are the creators of Treemagik, a low-poly tree modeling tool. You can model any tree (or plants/grass if you use plant life) using just some parameters, then you could modify the tree appearance in your favourite modeling tool, or apply your personal skin/texture to the leaves and/or the bark.

Best thing to get your hands on is the Autobon Society Field guide to North American Foliage. Of Course they are not in print but there out there. They also have other regions covered.
Next best thing would be just aboout any botanical reference book that actually has some pictures.
