Does Milkshape 1.7.5 work ok?

by David Stewart · in Artist Corner · 07/25/2005 (4:43 pm) · 6 replies

I haven't used ms3d for a long time and just got the new version 1.7.5 today. (it was posted on the milkshape site yesterday)

Milkshape crashes when I export to a dts.

I'm using Chris' exporter: Updated Milkshape Exporter

I don't know if there is a better or more updated one than this.

However, the exporter manages to export the dts and I can see the model and animations in showtool pro.

Hi David,

I haven't tried the exporter with the latest version of milkshape yet - but there didn't seem to be anything in the change list that should cause a problem.

I know that the exporter works with version 1.7.4, so it might pay to get a copy of that and try it.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have to play with it some more. I had the showtool pro open and some other programs running at the same time, so it may have been an issue with multiple programs.

I didnt see anything in the history that would indicate a possible issue either.

Chris,
Since we there isn't an importer for milkshape, could your exporter somehow save the exporter settings so we wouldnt have to keep entering the export options?

If it somehow does that already, please let me know. I haven't found that info yet.

Also, is the help file up to date? I've noticed that the help file indicates that IFLs arent supported, yet the comments in your resource post indicate that it does work.

Thanks for your response.

I see that there is an IFL example included in the download.
Will try it out.

Hi David,

Do you have the most recent version of the exporter? I just took a look at the help file that comes with the current version, and I didn't see any indication that IFL's were not supported.

I guess I confused IFL with this:
Quote:
Texture Animations
This is useful for things where the texture itself must animate. Scrolling computer monitors, waterfalls, and tank treads are just a few of the applications for animated texture coordinates.
