Levels?

Hi,
I am building off of the shooter tutorial and so I still have just a scrolling map/layers that autopan. How can I make a full level where one map scrolls for a long time until a boss fight, where the map then just repeats until the boss is dead, then a new map with different graphics etc.?

Any updates on the Level Editor? Cause that would really come in handy for all of us I guess.

GarageGames is handling the management of the level editor now. I am merely helping in its construction. I'm sure somebody, if not me, will be able to give updates soon. Yeah, there's that 'soon' word again. Sorry, that's the best I can do.

Its hard being on either end of the "soon" comments

I doubt that a level editor will make it into the next major release of T2D, but it's definitely high on our priority list and we're teaming up with good guys like Adam to help get it cranked out as soon as humanly possible.

Unfortunately, I doubt any generic level editor will benefit me. I'd like to suggest a level editor framework so that we can build on a basis for creating our own specialized editors. You provide the most needed interface elements and functionality (layer manipulations, layer naming, flood-filling, tile pattern-matching, stuff common to all tile editors). That's my $.02. :)

I asked melv about the scene editor he was working on, Josh chimed in and answered it for me:My Question:

sceneeditor? I know that I've heard some talk about editors, but care to divulge any details on that one melv?

Ryan, T2D 1.1 will include a great new object editor... details to come soon. And yes, T2D will have a scene editor-- which combined with the object editor will be T2D's equivalent of the Torque World editor--- though the scene editor will not come out in the 1.1 update.
