My first Milkshape model

Hey everyone, I just wanted to display my first complete ms3d model, the Phiranah G3 paintball gun.
Here is an untextured pic
untextured
and a textured pic (with my rather weak texturing skills)
textured
It is made up of 1232 Triangles, too many for a first person view model?
What do you all think? Do I have any hope in modeling :)

I updated the links, I guess you can't use Yahoo Briefcase to image links, but they are on geocities now. I'm looking forward to any feedback. Thank you.

Hey, it looks good; keep it up! I'm not an artist, but I belive that, currently, 1232 triangles would be a bit much for a gun in a real-time game; that 400, 500, or 600 would work better. I wouldn't worry about it for now; in the future, you can always make a texture map from a high detail model and apply it to a low detail model. Besides, "premature optimization is the root of all evil."

I find texturing to be quite difficult myself :)
