Gluing verts to odd shapes question.

Hi Garagegame forums.
I've recently begun building maps in QuArK 6.3 and so far all has been pretty much plain sailing until i started doing a pipe consisting of several 8 sided brushes that I rotated and moved into a pretty good position.
Now I try to glue and snap the verts together to get rid of irregulareties and holed between the sections...
However - When I start gluing the tagged/glued vert lines up fine but the previously glued verts dissconnect as if QuArk keeps the distance between the verts of a brushe's side the same.
Is even vert-to-vert gluing possible?? Or does this only work on 4 sided brushes or un- rotated brushes?
I've trawled through the forums and found a few questions regarding this "problem" mostly concerning light leaks - but I've failed to find a satisfactory answer.
Can anyone help out?
Regards
Dennis
