London Terrorist attack

#1 Could it be due to yesterday's decision to host the 2012 games in London? Or both?

#2 A group calling itself the "Secret Organization group of al-Qaeda Organization in Europe" claimed responsibility in a Web site posting. The authenticity of the claim could not immediately be verified.

On a german website i found the same information, just translated...

They say it was the revenge for the commitment the British showed in Afghanistan and Iraq...

#3 Olympic games wouldn't be related. Not enough time to organise such an attack in a day. This was a small well planned attack.

#4 The organisation calls itself the Secret Organisation Group of al-Qaeda [literally the base] of Jihad Organisation in Europe.

The group not previously been heard of.

The website has previously carried statements purporting to be from al-Qaeda. It is not possible to verify such claims published on the web.

#5 Almost everyone heard it already, and cnn and bbc are nice places that cover this news, why do we have to carry the tragedy to our game development community. Don't get me wrong, I'm shocked by this and been following it since the first report came in, but this is not the place.
I hope you know what I mean.

#6 @Nick: I believe it's related to the G8 summit as well as the war in Iraq and Afganistan, the Olympics were just a coincidence.

@Xavier: I understand what you are saying but I just want to post a message of sending my condolences out in hopes that nobody here in our community suffered any loss or was injured themselves. True this isn't a news site but it still effects our community here as we have so many members in that area.

My thoughts and prayers go out to our community actually our family members in the area.

#7 I agree. At the least, there should be a "non game related" forum for stuff like this as well as movie reviews, etc. that we can tune out if we choose.
