Round 'em up...

by Melv May · in Torque Game Builder · 07/05/2005 (9:57 pm) · 34 replies

If any of you nice people get a few minutes, it'd be great if you wouldn't mind posting some links/images to anything you've done with T2D, good or bad, since you started working with it (the scroller tutorial doesn't count). ;)

Mostly this is just to give me a warm-fuzzy feeling inside (and keep my motivation up to help me speed-up this release) but also I'd like everyone else to see (particular new-comers) and perhaps be motivated by what others are doing so please come along and let's make this thread a NO-TEXT, all images frenzy, Yay! :)

Let the onslaught commence...

Static images don't do it justice, but here's a snap from the demo mode.

Call of Dooty beware of programmer art ;)

(All of the art is placeholder stuff) Check Here for the inspiration for this little game.

Set in WWII. The art will eventually reflect bombed out buildings/landscape... and Nazi soldiers will be running around trying to rid them selves of the dooty dropping duck. If you notice... I'm using images from Timothy Aste's Content Pack. Cool stuff.

Pretty simple game... but I'm having a blast making it.

I have been playing around mostly with particles so far. Here is a video 15megs

Intended for T2d private forum only please don't redistribute.

The schlepp art and particles is what I am showing here not gameplay, it's based on the scroller.
I think it's funny... lol.

@Randy: Great stuff! I'm trying to create a particle effect that resembles a liquid spatter effect.... (reference Call of Dooty above). Getting good at the particle editor will take a bit :P

This is a quick little prototype i put together in about 8 hours (i'm a TGB newbie). Nothing really fancy in the screenshot other than the parallax clouds with shadows.

Title Screen to our Western Genre Game: New Mexico Territory.

The sun rises and sets and causes shadows, sky colors, etc to change.

They sky color changes are just alpha blends based on the Y position of the sun, the higher the sun rises, the ligher the alpha blends, etc.
