Editor's exe's

Hi,

I just downloaded the SDK Engine.. installed just fine... but was wondering if there are compiled exe's of the tools like the mission editor. I see the tools directory. Do I need to compile the tools? No problem if I do... was just wondering if exe's came with the SDK.

Thanks,

Hi Dana,

The tools are in the game.

Run one of the demos, (ex. starter.fps) and press F11.
You will be able to access the world and terrain editors.
Press F10 and you can load the gui editor.

You can't compile the editors, they are ingame.

Thanks for the info.. this may be getting ahead of myself, but when you distribute a game what prevents the gamer from accessing the editors?

Thanks again,
Dana

The tools directory that you are referring to that isn't in the example folder has many of the dts exporters and other stuff.

You can remove them. They're included in the demo so that you can get a feel for the engine.

Just delete the scripts and/or binds that access the editors.

Why do you keep posting the same message?

Good question Stefan. I have only posted once. I have never seen this behavior before. I am sorry. It is annoying.

Each time you update the page (using F5 in IE, for example) you will resend the form and create another post.
