Poochie Park

Everyone is thinking of FPS's. Which is typical really, because thats the model the engine is built for.

How about something completely different. How about a "virtual pet playground". Basically, its one of these weird nintendo-esque affairs, where you are basically "playing" with a cutesy character. In this case, you have dog called POOCHIE. He is cute, he yips, he plays.. he does his business :)

Each player enters the park with thier poochie. The idea is that you must train your pooch to play well with the others. Give him treats and what have you.

Kinda like that pikachu game where you have to play with him.

My point is that you dont HAVE to have first person weapons.

Hell, you could even do a version of the (now defunct) BAD FUR DAY :))

Great idea. This is exactly what I have been preaching on this board. Do something different. Think about what masses of people like. FRP, FPS, RTS. They've been done to DEATH.

This is refreshing.

Plus the whole thing about the "casual market" growing a lot..

Having said that, my knowledge is all about FPS, so poochie is going to be a co-development thing for me (i.e. I'll work out my AI in poochie park, then port it into my FPS).

The weird thing is, the poochie AI is pretty similar to the AI I need for my FPS experiment :)))
