FxScroller2D and DirectX

My fxScroller2D objects do not pan/scroll when I'm using D3D. I can switch during the game between D3D and OGL and they stop working in D3D mode and then work fine in OGL. Does anyone else have this experience, or is it just something I'm doing wrong (as usual)? :)
