From the EULA posted above

nonexclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, limited license to use the
Licensed Material, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement (the
"License").

d) Licenses Non-Transferable. It is expressly acknowledged and agreed the
License is non-transferable and Customer shall not purport to assign or transfer the
License without the prior written consent of Alias, which may be granted or withheld
in Alias' sole and absolute discretion. Any such purported transfer or assignment in
the absence of Alias' prior written consent shall be void and without effect. If such
transfer is authorized, Customer agrees to provide any and all information
reasonably requested by Alias relating to such transfer and Customer shall promptly
execute and/or have executed by the proposed transferee any and all documentation
provided by Alias required to effect such transfer.

Or get your money back from EBay, or threaten to do so unless the seller contacts Alias to transfer the license:
Quote:It is expressly acknowledged and agreed the
License is non-transferable and Customer shall not purport to assign or transfer the
License without the prior written consent of Alias

If for whatever reason they can't get Alias to transfer the license, or won't even try, then all you need to do is report them for not selling you what was in their listing, and EBay should reimburse you.

In my experience Alias will transfer the licence if the original customer asks them. Question really is where did this licence originally come from :oP

Usually, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Unlimited for $300 sounds entirely too phenomenal to be true unless you know a Chinese piracy ring...and then $300 sounds really steep...

@Matt: And let me guess, the cd face says "Verbatim 52x" on it?

You'd have to check product codes for most Chinese pirated software and DVD's. There's a reason that they're the target of huge piracy stings. For example, the DVD's for Galaxy Express have the same codes for the limited edition, but each one has the same number. They also cost $25 for the full 5/6 DVD set rather than couple a hundred dollar for the limited edition import price. They also have English subtitles (often from Korean translators, interestingly enough).

Chances are you have bought an educational version of the software that some reseller was offloading, this is typically what happens when you see software like this being sold on eBay for dirt cheap. Its sneaky and underhanded by kinda legit for the seller to do.
