40 million creditcard-numbers hacked

I read in a Swedish newspaper (Expressen) this morning that 40 million creditcard-numbers have been hacked and that anyone that buys with VISA/MasterCard in the US or at websites from the US, should take extra care of their banklog and read it carefully to see if everything is okay.
Maybe this isn't the company GG uses to transfer cash, but I'm just curious if this "news-event" is known elsewhere too?

I wouldn't put too much into what "expressen" says though, just one of the regular "tabloids". They tend to blow things out of proportions just to sell more papers...

I just realised that I did post this here, my excuses. A messy post with no real usefulness, I must have been dead tired. I have to agree (while I'm awake now ^^) with Magnus that it's quite blown out of proportion and exagurated.

And as for this thing, I seem to remember there being some similar news story a couple of years ago. What happened then? Not a shit... so really, I wouldn't worry. I flipped through a few of the news articles about this on google news last night and at least one of them mentioned that these numbers were lost sometimes late last year, and so far no unauthorized use have been reported. Go figure.

Awake? bah. Who's awake... (damn, another all nighter. Starting to get used to going to bed after the sun gets up. Still have a couple of hours left in me though I think.... =)And as for this thing, I seem to remember there being some similar news story a couple of years ago. What happened then?
