Indies in Utah?

by Jay Barnson · in General Discussion · 06/15/2005 (4:31 pm) · 12 replies

Don't know if there are any GG indies who are in Utah who don't frequent the IndieGamer.com boards --- but if so we're planning a little get-together next week. Info at:

I'm up in Idaho, but I'm directing a play. Hope you guys have a great turnout!

I can't post to the indiegamer boards (due to their 7 day lurker policy).
If the get-together is going to be in Pleasant Grove, I'll be just a few miles away on both the 22nd and 23rd, so that would be perfect, and I should by all means be able to make it. If someone could post here with the updated details (i.e. where/when) when they are finalized, I would appreciate it.

Okay. It looks like it'll be on the 22nd at the NinjaBee offices. Dunno the exact time or stuff - that'll probably be coming together over the weekend.

Are the NinjaBee offices inside Wahoo Studios? I haven't been able to find an address for NinjaBee, but I have found the Wahoo Studios address.

Wahoo = NinjaBee, for all intents and purposes. NinjaBee is their branding for indie games. But they also do non-indie, work-for-hire contract business for publishers.

The time is at 7:00 PM. Be prepared to chip in for pizza, which will be ordered once everyone arrives. The Wahoo guys will be providing some drinks and munchies, and lots of gaming hardware so we can share past successes and possibly current projects. Feel free to bring laptops. There'll be lots of meeting and greeting and discussion of indie topics.

Note that there'll be a lot of hardcore industry vets there, both from the mainstream and indie side of the fence. Could be a really good chance to network with people, get contacts. I think it'll be a great opportunity.

Takes 7 days in order to post on the forum as a new user, so I will respond here. I would like to attend but I have class that night. I look forward to next time.

I can't make it either. Hope they have another one sometime, maybe in Salt Lake.

Heyas - forwarded your email onto Steve Taylor. I'll let him field it. I know my big concern would be making sure you bring your transportation with you, so nobody has to wait for your ride to show up to take you home.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who showed up. I had a good time and met some cool people. We should do it again soon!

Thanks to Jay for helping arrange it all, and to Eric Petersen for buying the candy and chips!
