I say your EGTGE Lite version is an awesome easy to read book. Thanx for producing this book, and I can't wait for the full completed version, which I buy without a 2nd thought.
That out of the way, now to the problem.
I see EGTGE Lite is for version 1.2. In the World Editor I have encountered a few issues. Before I get into them here is my basic setup.
Suse 9.1 (soon to be 9.3)
Gnome desktop
nVidia driver (latest)
P4 with 1GB RAM
GF4 TI 4200 128MB
TGE SDK compiled with no errors and runs smoothly, no funny displaying errors.
Basicly I having problems with the mouse and keyboard controls in the World Editor.
- Found out that Shift is actually Ctrl.
- Shift simply used for selection purposes only.
- Alt simply moves the Torgue window around, same as dragging the window by the title bar
- Ctrl+Alt seems to function normally
So what is the new meta key that replaces Alt?
Is there an update document on the keyboard and mouse controls?
Thanx

Now to figure out where these control preferences are. Hardly ever customized the desktop.
PS: Edward could you make a small section on Linux in the book about little quirks that can take place with suggestions to fix them.
Edit:
Found it for Gnome desktop.
Applications -> Desktop Preference -> Windows
3 Options: Ctrl, Alt or Super (Windows key)
Choosing Super solves the problem.
Thanx for the help

Mandrake have drakconf
Redhat have a bunch of things, prefixed with redhat-{something}
Most of the major ones have similar tools.
Unfortauntely, as a whole, there's no way to garauntee that any specific key stuff isn't going to be in use by X or some too-clever-by-half desktop environment, and the tools I mentioend above probably won't help you with that. You're better off posting specific problems when you come across them.
