Complete newbie/fodder question about game in a day

ok, I admit, I've always wondered exactly what in the world game in a day is, so first:
1. is it exactly as it sounds?
2. is there room for an audio designer to jump on board?
3. please more info on question 1 and 2.

thats a pretty cool concept. If anyone ever plans to do this and needs help with audio, you know where to find me.
