My New Team and Project

For what its worth, i've been on GG for ages now and i have to agree with the general opinion that game design has stagnated in its attempt to make a buck. so,me and a few freinds of mine decided that at least we should try to be origanal and weird in game design and ground up for development. this new Brain Child is called MoonStruck Games. and our First project is "Survival". A melded blend of adventure RPG, RTS, and FPS. i know that others have tried this. Savage being one of the most successful.(yet it was a sleeper hit and only sports a cult following) But i figured, hey, let go for it. Its obviously a technique thats been run down to bare threads with reletively old ways to make new types of games by just mixing it with another. but thats not what we plan to acheive with this.

We are hopeing to see a unique form of gameplay, not design. we want every kind of gamer to be able to relate to this game and there gameing styles. In other words, we're creating a world unto its self. something that can respond to and immerse the player in a detailed world. we won't rely on generic engines that are mostly geared to one or two piticualar genre's. Even the Torgue engine is immune to this, just recently has it begun to impliment the many other tools needed for other genres.

In short, we want a game that is a world unto itself. Not some off the shelf cookie cutter game.

I'd love to have your application for a 3d artist. just make sure to send me the link or just a demo reel, or a bunch of stills of any 3d art that you've created and in what program you used, no to mention your Chat id's for any IM client you wish. and we'll talk about it.

Savage is a wonderful game. Not to derail the thread, but its one of the inspirations for our project. We recognized that the "leader" gui...for directing teammates would be GREAT for MMOs and we're using it.

Welcome Travelers!
Sit and stay as a tale of woh and triumph is told by an ancient man of incalcuable age. A story of war, of peace, and enginuity.
Long ago, a world, much like ours; yet not, was raveged by a great and evil Force. Its name and form lost to memory.Yet the blades of its armies still left scars, its magic still left the people battered and raw. In an act of desperation, the great wizards and mages of all the races of this world gathered. They sought a means to escape, so they opened a portal to another world, a world un explored and undeveloped. Two races went through the portal, the Reptil and the Humans. The Evil Force gathered for one last strike to disrupt the portal and the wizards spell. By sacrificeing all of its soldiers, all of is unholy magic, it tried to follow the refugees into the other realm. But the the souls of the soldiers sacrificed for this last attack rebeled, and left the evil Force behind and went through that portal. The Force had acheived its goal, conquering a world, and it is thought to be dormant in that satisfaction.

But now, Reptil and the Humans must survive on a hostile and uncivilized world. They must fight the very nature they hoped would shelter them from the great evil. and start over again. Old hatreds resurface as the last of the Humans and Reptils fight for land and resources, and the sacificed soldiers of the Evil Force Permiate the very stone of the land to form the abominations called Gravelers.


This lastest screen shot is proof of the talent and enginuity of my team, these are real renders of our in house engine called DPengine. Soon, we'll have demo movies and character models to populate our new world.

Survival is the working title for our game. Survival Engine is the same thing as DPEngine basically :)
