Problems with quark. Major errors

by Paul Fassett · in Artist Corner · 06/04/2005 (10:47 pm) · 6 replies

I've been having weird errors like "Ooops, sorry, error packing winding, ask Dmoore" and just crazy wackedness like this for the past week just out of the blue. Now for some reason everytime I add something to my level after exporting the dif file when I open up my level it's crashes when lighting objects. If I go back into the level and delete the changes and rexport the level starts up fine. WTF? Anyone heard of this happening? And how do you fix it?

I mean I'm used to these errors when exporting, but at least I can figure those ones out. This one is just wacked.

Have you tried using the alpha version of the new map2dif ?

Ok that didn't work either... I thought it did but it didn't. For some reason torque doesn't like it when 2 difs touch eachother which sucks because I have a level that is split into peices... So yeah.. Anyone know a way around this?

That means some of your geometry is invalid. This is normal with quark unless you're doing really simple work. I've covered quite a bit of the possible causes before in these threads:
