Servers & Orbz3

When I host why can't I be found, why are the servers regularly down & when are you going to release Orbz3?

If you can't be found when you host a game, it is because you are behind a firewall or router. You need to configure it to forward ports 28000-28002 to your computer (I can't help you with that part).

The servers were down yesterday beacuse Garage Games had a hardware failure. For Orbz 2, they use GG's master server. If it's down, no one can see any servers. One can only hope that they will use more than one master server for Orbz 3, in case one goes down.

I wish I knew the answer for the last question!

We've been asked that alot lately - where is Orbz 3!? Quite simply, the answer is that it will be coming out on XBOX first, then PC/Mac. Orbz for XBOX Live Arcade should be out in August and it contains all the new features of Orbz 3 including 13 new courses, 6 new powerups, all new challenges (including new modes of play), 50+ orbs to unlock, an ELO based ranking system for online play, and more.

After OX is released, we will be working hard to port the game to the PC/Mac but have no time frame for it's release yet. In the meanwhile, grab an XBOX, an XArcade CD, and join us for some Orbz online action over XBOX Live later this summer!

Are X-Box and Xarcade used together, or does the cd run on pc/mac?

Will 3 contain the old maps as well or will there be 13 maps that count towards ranking to begin with?

And BTW, thanks for continuing to design for this game...some of us have patience and are looking forward to it, whenever it arrives!

The new version does still have the old maps but they have been improved. There are 25 courses in total across 5 different themes.

I've had a few people ask me this, so I'll post it here.... when Orbz 3 is out for the PC & Mac, will we be able to play online against X-Box players as well?

There has been talk within Microsoft apparently about opening up XBOX Live to PC players but I think it's still a ways off. XBOX Live as it stands is a closed gaming network only available to XBOX games. Therefore, the PC version of Orbz 3 will probably not be able to play against the XBOX version.
