I see garagegames can publish your games for you, this is good news indeed, however, I dont see many games for sale, relative to the size of the community. Is there a reason for this ?
Are any of you gonna look at submitting your T2D games ?

Yeah I saw that, maybe they need to update that, I mean side scrollers are a big part of fun 2d games.

Considering ZAP!, I'd say GG is down with 2D games though. The engine is still EA though, so i don't think they're probably expecting to pickup any titles from it just yet.

I haven't decided if I want to port to Windows yet, even if I get something which is actually ready for primetime, so I may not have the choice.Considering ZAP!, I'd say GG is down with 2D games though. And to make a tetris-like or a shoot-them-up without a verry great work and originality, it's hard to selle it when you think you can have plenty of this kind of games for free on the web.
So, i think a game like Gish, that is verry well worked and add something wonderfully original to platform games, is something they can be interrested in. Or maybe a strategy game that use an original an verry fun system, with verry good arts etc can be interresting.

About 2D games, maybe it's just that what have been submitted is not "big" enougth? I mean, to make something interresting now in 2D, after years of 2D games experiences from snes and other platforms, it's hard to find something that don't look like a game already out.And to make a tetris-like or a shoot-them-up without a verry great work and originality, it's hard to selle it when you think you can have plenty of this kind of games for free on the web.

a) professional in production quality (including general performance, art/sound assets, and presentation), and
b) capable of getting push through from a demo to a sale.
As has been mentioned previously, the FAQ is slightly out of date (T2D has only been out a couple of months), and being a "2D game" is not a disqualifier for GG publishing. However, as was also mentioned, GG has very--no, extremely high standards, so be prepared for a few rejections (hopefully with suggestions for improvement!) before they will be accepting projects for publishing.

Just as a general statement, GG will be interested in any game that is:a) professional in production quality (including general performance, art/sound assets, and presentation), and
b) capable of getting push through from a demo to a sale.

As far as 2d, well, if you look at the faqs, you kind of get the impression that there not looking for 2D games.
