Google Search: Visited link same as normal link

When i am doing a search, and click on a link, after I am done it doesn't change colour to show I've visited that link.
This makes searching difficult for me, as often I search for a term and get many hits, so go through them one at a time often in more than one sitting. I then get confused as to what links I've chacked and end up visiting the same threads over and over.
I tried it in Opera 8.0, Firefox 1.03 and IE 6.0 and visited links are the same as unread links in all 3.
