More than 8 channels of audio

Is there a way to add more channels of audio to Torque? 8 channels get used up pretty quickly when you have a lot of ambient sounds along with gameplay sounds.

Just for posterity, I've since been enlightened by Edo Broekman that the "channels" in Torque don't refer to number of simultaneous sounds that can play. Instead a channel is used to control a "group" of sounds, like music or game effects.
