Torque Lighting Problem

Hello,

I am the lead mapper for team making a game for the torque. Its called Arms of Enchantment. We have been in development since before the release of the engine. Well since the day it came out I have been doing the interiors. In 1.0 I had a problem when the engine tried to light a castle I was making, it would crash. I narrowed in down to the teeth on it. With out the teeth it would light no problem. Well you cant have a castle with out teeth. Well when 1.1 came out it was a dream. It seemed like it would light anything. I was able to finish the castle.

Now I am coming across the same problem with lighting. As you can see from the interior here. Its for the most part simple. Well it wont light. Wether I light it when I place it, or at the loading of the map. Is any one else having this problem?

If you have any solutions or ideas please reply.

I can't offer any assitance with the lighting issue, but FYI, they are called merlons and crenellations. I found a little diagram for you that illustrates a bit better what I mean. Good luck with the lighting tho...

(Man, I just love archaic terms!)

Ok I fixed my problem. Very wierd what I did to fix it. I just added another tower as you see in this picture. Compared to the other one thats all it is, a tower. Why the engine is able to light it with that added. I have no idea.

I looks like you have the sun coming from the back-left side--that would explain why the first image didn't seem lighted. You could change the sun direction vector and see if it makes a diff.

Did you add any ambient_color in the worldspawn?
And where is the terrain, sky?
Did you add any ambient light in the mission file sun?
