#1 There is a Resource out there to make wheeled vehicles have shadows for their wheels...... Actually, just search the forums.... It would just be a pain otherwise...

#2 I didn't manage to find an exact code snippet anywhere, but you can look through these for some referance...

I would also reccomend looking at the engine code under the wheel datablock... I don't imagin that this would be that hard at all to get by...
