Texture animation on LOD mesh

Texture animation doesn't seem to work on the LOD models... why is this? Am i doing something wrong (model setup), or is this not supported and will it require some coding?
What i'm trying to do is the following: I animated the UVW of my vehicle model so it shows a breaklight that is off when not braking, and when you hit the brakes, the brakelights emit light. Now this works fine for the highest LOD, but it doesn't work for the other LOD models. I tried with and without animating their uvw's seperately... nothing seems to work.

@Ward Are you using the unmessDTS.exe and is this when it crashes. Cause I'm trying to animate the breaklights and once I run the unmessDTS, Torque crashes.
