Greater Toronto Area?

by Silentcity · in Jobs · 04/16/2005 (5:23 pm) · 4 replies

Sorry, I don't mean to be so conservative. Just testing the waters in my lo-cal.
Just wondering if there are any developers in the Toronto area who are actively seeking to moonlight with a local project?

Not trying to pitch anything just wanted to know who's in the area, looking
to find a start-up , team, indie group (whatever you wish to call it).
Also what your specialty is?

Also would be nice to know what specifically you guys in the GTA are looking for in terms of a project? Would be nice to know ... just curious.

Cheers,
Silentcity

I'm in the GTA and although I'm not looking for a project to work on (I've got one) if enough people using Torque/TSE were in the area it might be kinda fun and productive to start a local user's group.

I live in Toronto, and might be interested in joining a project. I'm just starting to familiarize myself with T2D, and have no desire to dive into the quagmire of TGE and 3D games programming at the moment. ;-) I lack experience with games and graphics programming, but I'm an experienced application programmer. Since I don't care much for C++ or TorqueScript, I'm thinking of creating Ruby bindings for T2D; I don't know much Ruby yet, but I've been looking for an excuse to learn it, and I already know Smalltalk.

For me, the ideal project would be a game that is simple (yet has interesting emergent behaviour), magical, tactical, and pattern-oriented. I'm still trying to think of a good concrete example.

I'm also in the GTA. I have my own project(s) on the go at the moment but would be interested in getting involved in a local user group.

    Oh!

I am from Toronto, and better yet am in need of project. I'm playing around with TGE now, perhaps TSE when cash is better. I program, err hack at code :D, mainly in C/C++. I also have a good ammount of knowlege in the audio department.

If you use MSN you can get me at Zeebs_Fun(at)hotmail.com, email to that as well if not.

    Cheers
