Other 3D file formats?

Has anyone had any success reading other 3D formats (ie .obj, .x) in place of the .dts files directly in Torque 3D. I need to get at the 3d mesh information to do a morph kind of thing and there is very little information about the .dts files. I've looked at the source for the exporters to reverse engineer it but what a pain.

Am I right and this will only work for static shapes or has that been added. What I'm looking for is to change the shape of a player on the fly, think incredible hulk.
