Torque 2D documentation referring to Torque documentation

by Dave "Jellybit" Freeman · in Torque Game Builder · 03/31/2005 (1:05 am) · 6 replies

I'm reading through the beginner's tutorial for Torque 2D. It makes many references to the Torque documentation. For instance, when it talks about editing scripts, it says:

"See the Torque Game Engine documentation for more information on common script editors"

Also, it mentions that the Torque documentation will teach you what you need to know about script formatting and such.

The problem is, I only bought the license to Torque 2D. I don't have the regular Torque engine. Where can I find this information with only a Torque 2D license? Did they include the Torque documents with Torque 2D, and I just overlooked them?

Thanks a lot.

Some bits are available, but some are not. It's been mentioned a few times that the documentation part of the site will be reworked so that it's a little more friendly to us T2D only peeps.

Also David, there is a new "Torque Developer Network" that is coming which will resolve this issue.

Please bear with us. :)

Yeah I can't find any reference to using the gui editor, I guess this is because or will be apart of future documentation.

alink to some resources on it would be good if anyone has one.

cheers

Thank you both for clearing up the situation. I guess I should have looked more carefully for others having the same problem. I look forward very much to this Torque Developer Network. I'm assuming that's the wikipedia-like system planned that I heard about in other posts? It sounds perfect for this community.

There's also a simple GUI system reference in the official docs.

In the 1.01 SDK update we have a better TGE doc reference system. Also, TDN is on the way, and that'll help quite a bit too, yep.
