Amazing MMORPG/FPS

"Chronos V" is going to be a MMORPG with very strong FPS influences. Veterans of deathmatch and every known shooter game will fall in love instantly. Based upon a epic evolving storyline set during the war between the great Terran empire and the mysterious Anchients, an alien species with fantastic powers, our game aims at giving people the chance to choose one of the two mighty factions, and to become part of the epic struggle for the secret of unlimited energy buried beneath the surface of a distant planet - Chronos V. Dozens of sophisticated weapons, vehicles and spacecraft together with enthralling looks hopefully will make it a huge success.

Another interesting aspect is that we intend to make our game competely free - as long as we are able to pay all costs with the help of future sponsors there will be no intial costs nor any monthly payments whatsoever!

Please visit our homepage www.chronosthegame.com to learn more about this project, its story, and alien races! Due to the fact that production has recently begun we are still looking for expert help - so if you happen to be an experienced modeller, coder, texture artist or mapper don't hesitate to contact us. We are also looking for writers, concept artists, musicians, and many more who want to contribute to something really outstanding.

If nothing else tell your friends and clanmates - all creative input is welcome. Hope to see you in our forums soon!

Backgroundstory:

"It is the year 1135 after the Unison when Horus the first Emperor made himself the undisputed ruler of Earth. Since then mankind has prospered under his and his heirs' just rule. 15 generations of the royal family have come and gone, and it has been their vision that made the Terran Empire the mighty power it is today. Terran technology allowed the Imperial forces to colonise planets in dozens of solar systems and no other race has dared to face mankind. But things have changed.

At the height of its power the Terran Empire, under the rule of Emperor Commodus I, received a message from one of their most distant scientific stations. Beneath the surface of the allegedly lifeless world of ChronosV the scientists claimed to have found the key to an unlimited supply of energy - the power mankind would need to further it ventures into space.
A crystal that should technically not exist has been found and the whole planet is clustered with sites where digs revealed huge deposits - each of them alone sufficient to power the entire Terran Empire for centuries. But then contact to the station was lost. "

oooh! An MMORPG! Isnt that the genre of game voted "Least Likely to Succeed"? :)

Just joking with ya. But seroiusly, I think you should defenitely reconsider making an MMORPG. Unless you are a god-like programmer, I dont think you have a chance. And dont think that a god-like programmer will join you, and spend 2-3 years of his time, to make a FREE game...

Honestly it isn't all that hard. In fact we now have three good coders and their jobs won't be any harder than those of our mappers, modellers and texture artists-this project is undoubtly huge but on the other hand we have a fairly big team already and everybody shows great enthusiasm. Making games isnßt all about making money with them- if we could create something outstanding that entertains thousends of people we are quite happy and besides with the masses comes the money- there are quite a few ways how to earn yourself a few bucks without billing your users.

Considering the high number of Toque liscensees there are very few good games in production- most often caused by the fact that everyone wants to make his or her own game while we depend on each other. I think it would be great if others would join our team- we have the will, an enthralling story and all that is needed to succeed....and we are open to ideas so people won't have to worry that they loose all their independance.
Take the time and visit the forums- if nothing else help us with ideas and a community that can give us the so very important feedback!

kind regards
MrD

btw: we also accept pessimistic teammates :P
