Tribes 2 Reference

Is there a copyright violation for using, but modifyiing Tribes 2 code in order to get your own hud. as long as it isn't the same code or same hud, will there be any problem. because to copy and paste a whole file is the easiest way to study code.

I believe that is a copyright violation. Certainly there is no problem looking at the code, but if you intend on eventually selling your game, I'd make sure you don't have any Tribes 2 script code anywhere.

Yes, it's all Sierra free. That's why the AI and sound code wasn't in the original release.
