I am starting a series of posts called TGE Noob. I'll try to get answers to some of the more maddening things if you are just coming to TGE.
#7. OpenAL is provided for you under Windows but missing from the Linux version.
So off you go to www.openal.org/downloads.html. Now for some odd reason they inform you source for OpenAL is available for Linux then don't provide you with a link of where to get it.
However thanks to Jerry Shaw [ www.garagegames.com/my/home/view.profile.php?qid=14861 ] the code can be had in many glorious flavors.
rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/716074/com/openal-devel-0.0.6-1.i386.rpm.ht...
Bottom line:
I swear some folks think making you burn cycles looking for stuff builds character.
Big brains:
Any other annoyances concerning OpenAL we shoud know about on Mac or Windows?
