Paypal.Support == No?

When I was trying to buy the Torque engine it seems as if there is no way to send it through PayPal. Since all the money I have is ON PayPal, would there be any way for me to pay through there? I mean, I do not have a credit card, so, using PayPal is the only way I can buy stuff on the internet. If you can please help me out it would be extremely great.

Any news on the paypal integration?
Wanted to get iTGB and a few other things, yet my development cash is all on paypal where the income ends. I would really prefer to be able to buy through paypal (paypal secure card is no option, paypal does not offer it outside the USA :( ) because having to use the CC means 2 cash transfers, nearly 14 days of transfer and additional costs that make only seriously large payments usefull.
Also the limit of my CC is quite a bit lower than the cash on my paypal acc
I would have had used the support possibilities to request such a possibility for the case of iTGB and the TGB Adventure Kit, but as I can not just ask a question but only problem reports about products, thats impossible.

We are not currently supporting PayPal and do not know if our banking backend will anytime in the near future.

I just hope that someone at GG somewhen brings in the factor privacy again after the CC data theft in US last year and in europe this year, which is at least to me a very strong factor to avoid payments larger than $200 with my CC.
The paypal fees shouldn't be an issue as they are only slightly higher than CC transaction fees and with GGs monthly volume they are potentially even lower than those from MasterCard and VISA (2-2.5% per transaction)
Any other planned (in the very near future) options to pay beside MC, VISA and the options that are mainly intend for US residents? (checke is no option at all, bank transfer takes forever for intercontinentals from my bank for security reasons)
I would have used Paypal Secure Card.
Sadly PayPal also has US customer focus, so the rest of the world still have no access to the Secure Card System and can't use with virtual CC therefor.

I know that it is currently not supported, thats why I revived this 2 year old thread where a GG employee mentions that GG is warming up with PayPal.I just hope that someone at GG somewhen brings in the factor privacy again after the CC data theft in US last year and in europe this year, which is at least to me a very strong factor to avoid payments larger than $200 with my CC.

Where do you get the 2% figure from? I use VISA and I sure as hell don't pay any extra fees other than my annual fee. I used to use PayPal but in the end it wasn't as cheap as to use my card.

One of the issues with PayPal, (supposedly its been fixed, but I don't know) is that you can easily cancel your transaction and get your money after you downloaded the software.
@Marc - do any of the stores in Switzerland sale prepaid credit cards? If so, you could use that to get what you need.

Chip: Naw we don't have debit CCs here. Also I can not pay my CC directly with PayPal neither do we have the PayPal CC here as both is US only.
I have a CC, but its limit wouldn't be enough to buy what I intend to buy, so I will most likely miss the deadline of the projected release date where the price potentially raises. Thats why this frustrates me that much that GG even now, 3 years later, still did not get to the point of integrating paypal, while even small 2 man "companies" were able to do so in a few weeks.
Will have to wait till my CC payment is processed by the CC company so I have my full limit back, just hope they get it done early enough before the iTorque prices raises which would then most likely surpass the limits I currently have.
Just to make that clear: I raised a few tousand USD funds in the past 8 months to be able to start out with my next project that connects PC-Mac-iPhone and I would prefer to spend them on the Torque technology (TGB - iTGB, additional 3D support through iTGE at a later point) as it fits my needs much better, Unity would force me to write quite a few scripts to get the same result I already have in my TGB prototype. Unity because they actually offer PayPal payments.
But if I am not able to spend my cash on it because GG is not able to have a 2008 compliant online store with alternative payments beside CC and "locally usefull only" I don't have much of an alternative.
I already payed my transaction fee for receiving the paypal payments and would like to prevent the waste of another 5%+ on the CC for transaction and currency conversion. I already did that on TGB Pro, TGE, Torsion, TGEA and other stuff.
As for the money refund stuff: The return policies of GG should solve that. If it is clearly pointed out that there is no refund due to the type of offered good, the cancel / refund request would not be accepted normally.
Don't know thought, could restrict it to verifyed PayPal users be of even more use?
PS: I'm sorry if I get on anyone nervs or if people see my posting as whine.
But to me its important to be able to spend the fund I raise on the best possible technology to reach my target and that without losing over 10% due to missing "standard payments" for online stores.
I hope other users will join in so GG realizes that there IS a market for PayPal owners.

Stefan: Yes you pay 2.5% fee for each transaction. But normally they are covered by the company that offers you the usage of the CC. The company I work for does not do that as we sell the stuff pretty near our own prices to get the stuff so the customers have to cover the CC fees themself if they use them instead of the regular cards that are common here (which are no CC)Chip: Naw we don't have debit CCs here. Also I can not pay my CC directly with PayPal neither do we have the PayPal CC here as both is US only.

I don't think anyone sees your post as whining. The more options the merrier.

Good luck with your project though, I'm anxious to see what gets done with iTorque :)

I don't think you are getting on anyone's nerves about it. PayPal, or some other payment option would be a good idea, but I do see why they haven't went with PayPal just yet, so I see both sides of the coin.Good luck with your project though, I'm anxious to see what gets done with iTorque :)

I will have to wait for 1.0 to get my hands on (would have loved to help testing it before. Have been on the TGB EA starting with 0.7 or the like already) but realize that they might not want to risk to be disturbed by users that do not have much experience on the hardware end and cost dev time with false bug reports and the like.
Gives me some time to work further on TGB on it before my iTouch has to "suffer" or I've to realize that some assumptions were wrong hehe ;)

I really support the idea behind PayPal / Click&Buy. I would have bought TGE or TGEA already if GG would support them. ;)

Nothing against CC, but their grade of security has not really raised the past 2-3 years, especially the USA has some serious problems with keeping the data secure

I'm stuck without some of the content packs that are for sale on the developer store.
Still waiting... kinda tired of waiting, really tired.
Does Unity have the same kind of content packs? if so, I'm going there as soon as the Windows editor is out.

Been waiting 3 years for this place to accept PP. Back in 2006 they were still "thinking about it" ... or something.I'm stuck without some of the content packs that are for sale on the developer store.

I can't imagine a hard stop in a project for 3 years because one can't purchase content packs with PayPal. That does not make sense to me.
02/19/2009 (6:29 am)
Unity doesn't sell content packs, nor does 2.1 create anything that works on my G5 regardless of specs. You can often contact the different authors directly to see if they have their own store.I can't imagine a hard stop in a project for 3 years because one can't purchase content packs with PayPal. It's plain DUMB to not offer PayPal-payments. Looking just within my friend circle, there's 3 persons who simply had to look for another company's stuff. The same for me.
Heck; for the bit of money PayPal requests from you, you can easily increase price through PayPal. Customers who really like your product, but couldn't otherwise, surely wouldn't mind paying a few dollars extra. I know I wouldn't.
But now... all these people simply not buying. Yeah.. great doing business...

I really do not understand it as well.
As a non US - non UK paypal user, I can not use its digital CC feature to compensate for lacking support of it and the "fluid part" of my company finances is fully paypal based, I've pushed back 2 things I intend to buy and bought other things on their creators pages which offered PayPal, like the foliage pack for example.
Its really puzzling how a company that claims itself to be "innovative" and is related to a such strongly internet based platform as IA so far has been able to decide that PayPal is nothing that they want to have supported.
The situation is really different from 2005 / 2006, by today a pretty large amount of cash flows between virtual web bank systems like PayPal, googles paypal counterpart as well as webmoney and all the other stuff, because they are significantly more secure than CreditCards.
Especially with the CC security problems US companies have shown the past 12 months, don't expect me to pull out my CC commonly. I will only use it when I really really need something or think that the investment will considerably pay back in the future.
Happened exactly twice the past 8 months, that was for the 400 and something sound bundle offered here on the store as well as iTGB

As a mather of fact, PayPal is actually cheaper than CreditCards for processings. CC processors often have fees of 4% upwards, which is the maximum you pay to PayPal if you have a too low monthly revenue.I really do not understand it as well.
