#1 T2d will be a stand alone product and will not require purchasing the Torque Game Engine. T2d is, infact, using Torque's networking ( all the code extrated and placed in the stand alone Torque Network Library or that which is build into TGE).

#2 When is t2d to be released? (if that's a viable question)

#3 And is it possible to create 2D games in TGE? Which was my original question. I am likely to buy T2D, but if it's equally possible to create them in TGE I'll buy it NOW... like... right now... :)

#4 Sure it's possible, but it requires some programming. It doesn't do it by default which is why they're working on the 2D version.

Yes you could use T2d to make 2d games inside a 3d game.

#6 TGE (T3D) is a 3D engine designed to make 3D games. However, it is fully possible to extend it into the 2D realm. After all, that's exactly what Melv did with T2D...it just depends on whether you want to do the work yourself.

#15 It's called just getting home from work, eating and then starting your second job before you finally collapes into bed to be woke-up by your 6 month old daughter who keeps you up until 5am. Get 1 hours kip, wake-up, shower, drive 1 hour to work. Work like a bitch all day and then drive 1 hour back and repeat that for 6 months. ;)

Josh was working until 9am ... yes, that's 9am on T2D until he finally fell asleep at the keyboard and had to go to bed. I'm at about the same point here.

#17 Hint: the more time they spend answering (or sliding by answering) questions on the forums about release date, the less time they spend releasing!

Be a pessimist--they are never dissapointed, only pleasantly surprised! If you set in your head, "I am going to purchase T2D on April 30th", you will one day soon get a quite positive uplifting to your spirits! (NOTE: That's not an official release date by any means!)

While most generally used in a request for action, the term may also be used in a response. While both uses show an sense of urgency in the delivery of information or goods neither give the connotation that all matters other then the one at hand should be dropped.
