Hot Stuff

I was recently playing Advanced Level 50 and I noticed that when the marble hits the platform, even when it's with very little force, it sends off sparks. I also noticed in an earlier level I think it was Monster Speedway, that the marble even left a plume of smoke behind when taking off at high speeds. And yet none of the surfaces in the game every show any scorch marks, no matter how many times I play on them.

Can someone please tell me what material was used to construct the surfaces? I'm using another program to design my new kitchen, and I'd like to use that material on the countertops around the stove.
